Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, seeks a Cytotechnologist to perform cytology testing in the analytical laboratory, applying expert technical knowledge to department testing and clinical relevance.

You will ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, TJC, and OSHA, participate in process improvements, and document quality control while supporting patient care. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree and ASCP Cytotechnologist certification within six months of hire, with one year of experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist certification within six months of hire.
• One year of experience in the field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generates and reports results used for making accurate diagnoses and prognoses that influence patient care and management.
• Responsible for operation, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting of testing-related processes, equipment and instrumentation, along with the appropriate documentation required.
• Serves as a department resource through utilization of critical thinking skills and independent judgement when analyzing, correlating, and interpreting data.
• Provides advanced, theory-based troubleshooting skills.
• Communicates effectively to coworkers, providers and other departments through timely notification of critical and significant results and findings, within shift-to-shift communication, laboratory and hospital huddles, occurrence reports, email and other manners to ensure continuity of laboratory operations and patient care.
• Exhibits integrity and stewardship through a strong commitment to following laboratory and hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.
