**Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)**

**Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – PRN**

_Texas Health Arlington Memorial’s Laboratory department is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist. Are you the right fit?_

**Work location:** Texas Health Arlington Memorial, 800 W. Randol Mill Rd. Arlington, TX 76012

**Work hours:** PRN, Saturdays and Sundays, with rotating weekends and holidays

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has a long-standing history in North Texas, serving Arlington, Kennedale, Pantego, Mansfield, and Grand Prairie. We are a 369-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, cancer, women’s health, behavioral health, neurosciences, and emergency services since 1958. Our facility is centrally located in Arlington, offering convenient access to the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas.

We are proud to be a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, Level III Maternal Newborn care unit, and Level III Trauma Center. Our accreditations include the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Additionally, we are a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, a Chest Pain Center, and a Heart Failure Center. Recognized by the American Heart Association with a Gold Plus award, we excel in stroke, heart failure, and chest pain care. We are also a Magnet hospital and have been named the best emergency department in Arlington by the community. Furthermore, we are a Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery procedures, making us a preferred healthcare provider in North Texas for various specialties.

**What You’ll Need:**

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or related sciences is highly preferred and must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Compliance with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (CLIAFE) is required. (Individuals hired as CLS II before January 3, 2010, will be grandfathered to the MLS position with existing education.)
  • Completion of an internship in an approved Medical Technology training program is required. Two (2) years of experience in a clinical Medical Laboratory is preferred.
  • MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent licensure (AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY, Philippine Board of Technical Technology) is required within 6 months of hire.
  • If working in Microbiology, M(ASCP) - Microbiology certification is required within 6 months of hire.
