Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist for night shift, full-time, to join our clinical laboratory team at Hillcrest Medical Center.

You will perform routine and specialized tests, ensure quality control, participate in education and proficiency testing, and support patient care with accurate laboratory results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's-level degree required in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical/physical/biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required; certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or related role is preferred.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Functions as a professional accountable for the performance of clinical laboratory testing related to patient care and diagnosis.
• Participates in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing as assigned.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Lab Scientist functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
• This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Will additionally participates in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing when assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent.
  • Certification within a specific area, i.e. M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP) qualifies.
  • Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
    • If the certification does lapse, the job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
