Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to independently perform laboratory procedures and tests across patient ages, using professional knowledge to deliver accurate, timely results.

Qualified candidates will have a HS diploma or GED with required coursework, a Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, and certification by ASCP/AMT/AAB at hire. Georgia licensure requirements apply. This is a full-time on-site role in Athens, GA.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a GED/HS diploma with college courses and clinical training to satisfy testing/certification as a medical technologist.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or life sciences preferred.
• Certification as a medical technologist by ASCP/AMT/AAB required at hire, or eligible.
• Georgia move option allows 18-month provisional status to complete qualifying exam.
• AAB provisional certification not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures independently for which trained and demonstrated competency.
• Performs laboratory testing on patients of all ages, interpreting and analyzing results accurately and timely.
