Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex tests in a fast-paced hospital lab. You will operate and maintain instruments, ensure specimen integrity, and report accurate results in a timely fashion.

BS in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology is required, with ASCP certification preferred. This role includes a $5,000 commitment bonus and opportunities for professional growth within Duke Health laboratories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Certification may be considered for certain tasks per CLIA director guidance.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Calibrate and maintain manual or computerized instrumentation.
• Process patient samples with proper identification to ensure quality results.
• Perform quality control and assist in development of new methods.
