Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist in the Digital Pathology Lab at Duke University Hospital, Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. The role performs routine and complex laboratory tests, supports quality control, and participates in regulatory compliance.

A $7,500 commitment bonus is available for a 1-year agreement. Candidates should have a B.S. in a lab science, generalist certification, and at least two years of MLS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Generalist certification required; specialty certification may be required for some labs.
• Two years of experience as a certified MLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate manual or computerized instrumentation and calibrate equipment.
• Ensure quality control, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare patient samples, document results, and communicate issues to senior staff.
• Assist in new test development and lab inspections.

Education

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology.

Generalist certification required for general laboratories. Generalist or specialty certification required
