Job summary

Augusta Health’s Medical Laboratory Scientist I performs tests and analyses to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The MLS I works in at least two departments (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology) and must be competent across all areas for second/third shift coverage.

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Certification as MLS or eligible within 12 months of hire required or anticipated.
• Master's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred.

• Perform lab tests and analyses to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
• Conduct clinical testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology.
• Operate laboratory equipment and prepare specimens.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
