Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology, or Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science with certification.
Certification (MLS or categorical) OR a certificate of completion/letter of attestation from an MLS program.
Individuals in Nevada or California must maintain certification.
Foreign-educated candidates must provide credential evaluation (IERF or equivalent).
For some specialties, a bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in that discipline is required.
Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy where applicable.

Responsibilities

Assist with department testing, clinical relevance, and complex problem solving.
Ensure compliance with CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA and other accreditation requirements.
Possibly collect, receipt, and process biological specimens into the laboratory.
Follow established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
