Job summary

Penn State Health - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking a patient transport role to move patients and items safely between units and treatment areas. The role supports nursing staff in delivering quality patient care and ensuring smooth patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Evening shift is available with a differential of $2.00/hour. Full-time position at 0.90 FTE, with responsibilities including handling a variety of clinical movement tasks and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of direct patient care experience required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• BLS-Heartsaver certification required OR must obtain CPR/BLS within 3 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Move patients and items safely to and from clinical units and diagnostic/treatment areas.
• Assist nursing staff in delivery of quality patient care while following policies.
• Support workflow to ensure efficient patient throughput.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients and items to and from clinical units as well as various diagnostic treatment and testing areas. Maintain established HMC policies and procedures by supporting the nursing staff with the delivery of quality patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• BLS-Heartsaver certification required OR must obtain a hospital-approved CPR or BLS program within 3-weeks of date of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)

• Basic computer skills preferred.
