Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Sitka, AK, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to provide full-range testing in a hospital-based laboratory, including CLIA high complexity analyses. The role requires quality control oversight, instrument maintenance, and collaboration with MLTs, LSTs, and Medical Director as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Certification: ASCP MLS or AMT CLMLS preferred or required.
• Clinical competency due within 3 months of hire and every three years.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of testing including CLIA defined high complexity testing and laboratory services.
• Evaluates, judges, and interprets test results and ensures accuracy.
• Identifies and resolves inconsistencies in patient results and troubleshoots with MLTs and LSTs.
• Provides specialized expertise in microbiology, transfusion medicine, molecular biology, and infectious disease safety.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and instruments; ensures quality control and regulatory compliance.
