Job summary

Regions Hospital Core Laboratory is seeking a self-motivated Medical Lab Scientist to join a collaborative team. The role includes floating between departments and performing a range of testing from specimen receiving to high complexity workups in Blood Bank and automation lines in Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, and Urinalysis.

The position is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) with a schedule of Days/Evening and rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or other science related field.
• Masters degree or clinical specialty training may substitute for preferred certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen receiving at the front desk to high complex testing such as antibody ID, antigen typing and other complex workups in Blood Bank.
• Handle moderate to high complexity automation lines in Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology and Urinalysis.
• Work as a generalist and float between different departments.
