• Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility offering the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care, including 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing related to patient care and diagnosis.
• This role performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical analysis.
• Additionally, participates in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related science (chemical, physical, or biological).
• ASCP certification or equivalent is required, with certification in a specific area (e.g., M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP)) preferred.
• Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment; lapses will result in downgrading to non-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist until reinstated.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
