Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) to perform routine and complex laboratory tests across toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology and certification (MT/CLS/MLS or equivalent) with blood bank experience.

Generalist experience is preferred, and registry within one year is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology is required.
• Registry/certification must be obtained within less than 1 year of hire; ASCP and AMT preferred.
• Generalist experience in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology is preferred; blood bank experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Produce accurate results across hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and other areas as designated.
• Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment, and monitoring quality control measures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• You will perform chemical, bacteriological,serological,and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• You will produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated.
• You willmaintainquality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipmentutilizingapproved testing procedures, verifying equipment function through routinemaintenance,and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science/ Medical Technology required.
• MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP) or, as appropriate, BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), I (ASCP), H(ASCP), or M(ASCP) certification or equivalent required OR registry/certification eligible.--ASCP and AMT most preferred.
• Registry/certification must be obtained within less than 1 year of hire.
