Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO, seeks a Medical Lab Scientist to perform routine and complex tests across chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology to aid patient diagnosis and treatment.

You will join a dedicated team delivering accurate results and compassionate care, emphasizing quality control and compliance with testing protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology (required).
• MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification or registry eligible.
• ASCP or AMT preferred; registry/certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Lab Scientist(MLS) conducts routine and complex laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and/or microbiology for use in patient diagnosis and treatment of disease. Join our team of dedicated professionals thatiscommitted to delivering the best patient care.

What you will do in this role:

• You will perform chemical, bacteriological,serological,and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• You will produceaccurateresults in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis,microbiologyand otherareas asdesignated.
• You willmaintainquality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipmentutilizingapproved testing procedures, verifying equipment function through routinemaintenance,and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science/ Medical Technologyrequired.
• MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP) or, asappropriate, BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), I (ASCP), H(ASCP), or M(ASCP) certification or equivalent required OR registry/certification eligible.
• ASCP or AMT preferred
• Registry/certification must be obtained within less than 1 year of hire.
• Generalist experience: hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis,microbiology,etc.
• Blood Bank required.
• Hospital experience highly desired and prioritized.
• New grads considered.
