Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory testing in an accurate and timely fashion by utilizing technical and problem-solving skills in conjunction with a thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory principles. Maintains effective communication and transfers testing and pending follow-ups between employees and shifts following all CHAMP and HRO standards. Maintains all Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards at all times. Maintains operational effectiveness and assumes full responsibility for continuing education requirements, licensure, and expertise to adapt as needed to an expanding department with increased testing complexity.

Qualifications

1. Education: BS Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Science or equivalent. ASCP eligible or equivalent.
2. Experience: 0-2 years.
3. Licensure: ASCP eligible or equivalent.
4. Special Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to interact positively with coworkers and customers. Proactively assists in other areas as needed. Maintains procedure knowledge and implements all new and revised procedures in real time. Upholds Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards consistently.

Physical Demands

While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and depth perception, and focus adjustment. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate. Must pass colorblindness testing and be able to perform testing accurately with or without accommodations.
