Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant II for day shift to support specimen processing, labeling, and transport for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of related experience, strong customer service and teamwork skills, and may hold a phlebotomy or MLA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience.
• Preferred certification in phlebotomy or medical laboratory assisting.

Responsibilities

• Process, organize, label, and transport specimens for testing.
• Input and extract data in the Laboratory Information System.
• Answer phones and file documents as part of clerical tasks.
• Serve as a role model and preceptor for staff and students.
