About Your Team

UT Health Tyler is our flagship hospital with 502 licensed beds, specializing in advanced acute care medicine. It features a 24-hour ER with a Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, over 500 physicians, and various subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) supports laboratory operations by assisting with specimen collection, receiving, processing, testing, and participating in process improvement and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certification from a recognized agency as a medical lab assistant within 2 years of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical setting
• Certification as a phlebotomist from a recognized agency is preferred
