Job summary

The Montana VA Health Care System is seeking an Inventory Manager within the Supply Chain Management Service responsible for the inventory and management of all expendable supplies and durable medical equipment in the assigned area(s).

The role supports forecasting, analysis, and replenishment, coordinates with logistics, and ensures proper disposal and reutilization of medical supplies to support high-quality patient care across the system.

Qualifications

• GS-07 requires 1 year of specialized experience at GS-05 in the Federal service.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., IFCAP) and electronic records.
• Education or combination of education and experience as described for GS-07/GS-09.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management and Control: management and control of an assigned class of expendable material; serves as point of contact for material support.
• Conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis.
• Conducts spot checks.
• Implements federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies.
• Coordinates disposal of surplus or excess supplies.
• Makes emergent procurement decisions.
• Participates in root cause analysis process.
• Computes requirements for supplies and DME.
