Job summary

Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) is seeking a full-time medical interpreter/translator who will also serve as a Patient Services Representative (PSR) when interpretation is not required. This dual-role position ensures all patients receive high-quality care and support across language barriers.

Interpreter responsibilities include facilitating communication, translating medical information, and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish; medical terminology knowledge is required.
• Experience in a medical office setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• As an Interpreter/Translator: Facilitate communication between non-English speaking patients and medical staff; translate medical information accurately; assist with appointment reminders and follow-ups; translate written materials.
• As a Patient Services Representative (PSR): Greet and check in patients; manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and co-pays; answer phones and provide clinic information; support administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Interpreter/Translator:

• Facilitate communication between non-English speaking patients and medical staff.
• Translate medical information accurately and clearly, using appropriate terminology.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and cultural sensitivity at all times.
• Assist with appointment reminds and patient follow-ups.
• Translate written materials and support staff with language needs.

As a Patient Services Representative (PSR):

• Greet and check in patients with professionalism.
• Manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and co-pay collection.
• Answer and direct phone calls; provide general clinic information.
• Support administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Interpreter/Translator certification or training preferred.
• Experience: Fluent in English and Spanish. Experience in a medical office setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, detail-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
