Job summary

UVMMC is seeking a Spanish Medical Interpreter to provide high-quality interpretation between providers, patients, and families at the Burlington campus.

This full-time, full-benefits role requires clinical terminology knowledge, ethics standards, and willingness to travel to different UV Health sites in VT and Plattsburgh NY.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of professional community interpreting.
• High proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Completion of a 60-hour medical interpreter training.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and cultural humility.
• Strong knowledge of the National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
• Willingness to drive to different UVM Health sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for clinical encounters.
• Support training, documentation, and education activities within Language Access.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure clear communication with patients and families.
