Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center seeks a Spanish Medical Interpreter to ensure clear, compassionate communication between providers, patients and families. This full-time, benefits-eligible role supports equity and belonging across our health system.

Interpreters may train, educate, document, participate in community or committee work, and support other Language Access Services initiatives; travel to Vermont sites and Plattsburgh, NY is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of professional community interpreting.
• High proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Completion of a 60hour medical interpreter training.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and cultural humility.
• Strong knowledge of the National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
• Ability to work in dynamic clinical environments with professionalism and compassion aligned with UVM Health values.
• Availability to drive to different UVM Health sites in VT and Plattsburgh NY.
