Medical Insurance Customer Service Advisor

This position is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Call new patients to explain the billing process.
  • Proactively reach out to patients regarding meaningful billing changes.
  • Administer the Financial Assistance Program (FAP).
  • Respond to all inbound patient billing calls.
  • Communicate with new patients about the billing procedure.
  • Address patient concerns during initial calls or escalate to management as necessary.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to patients as needed.
  • Manage and communicate all aspects of the FAP to the appropriate department.
  • Input data into the company platform to maintain customer records.
  • Share knowledge with other staff members and work as a team.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with others.
  • Recognize and support patients' rights and responsibilities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  • Experience in collections, verification, and/or analysis.
  • Customer service call center experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Answer telephone promptly and professionally.
  • Strong customer service acumen.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to quickly learn the use of Lynx and CPR+.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
