Medical Insurance Customer Service Advisor

This position involves calling new patients to explain billing processes, proactively reaching out to patients regarding billing changes, administering the Financial Assistance Program (FAP), and responding to inbound patient billing calls.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred, especially with collections, verification, or analysis experience.
  • Customer service call center experience or equivalent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicate billing procedures to new patients.
  • Proactively notify patients of billing policy changes.
  • Address patient concerns or escalate as needed.
  • Follow up with patients and resolve issues promptly.
  • Serve as a point of contact for financial assistance and billing inquiries.
  • Manage, update, and communicate FAP details.
  • Update patient information in the database.
  • Input data into company platforms accurately.
  • Share knowledge and work collaboratively.
  • Respect patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Effective communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
