• Reports to: Office Supervisor
• Shift: Full Time

Introduction

The Insurance Specialist for LVI/VCS/ASC provides support for the clinic in insurance verification and authorization processes. Responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorizations, updating patient information, and resolving billing issues.

Responsibilities

1. Verify and interpret insurance eligibility using third-party verifiers, phone, and websites.
2. Obtain insurance authorization for procedures and services.
3. Review daily schedules for necessary prior authorizations and referrals.
4. Submit procedural and specific service authorizations.
5. Process referrals in eCW and MedInformatix.
6. Scan and document referral/authorization documents.
7. Disseminate authorizations and referrals for scheduling.
8. Schedule Peer to Peer reviews.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Preferred 4-year college degree.
• 1-2 years experience in medical sales or physician relations.
• Knowledge of radiology procedures is a plus.
