Job summary

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking a Medical Instrument Technician (Echocardiography) to perform diagnostic echocardiographic examinations and operate imaging equipment for cardiovascular care at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.

The successful candidate will maintain patient comfort, document procedures, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals while adhering to VA standards and AMI credentialing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing echocardiography/echosonography services.
  • Current RCS certification through CCI or RDCS certification through ARDMS.
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must successfully complete the AMI credentialing process.
  • Must be fully trained and technically competent to perform all required services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiographic examinations in accordance with clinical and VA standards.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate and adjust echocardiography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Review images for quality and completeness and communicate with physicians regarding additional imaging needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the VA electronic medical record.
  • Complete required quality management and performance improvement documentation.
  • Follow patient safety, infection control, HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VA requirements.
  • Participate in required orientation, training, continuing education, and competency programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support echocardiography and cardiovascular services.

Medical Instrument Technicians (Echocardiography)

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking experienced Medical Instrument Technicians (Echocardiography) to provide on-site provide diagnostic echocardiographic imaging services in support of cardiovascular care at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. In this position, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations, operating and adjusting imaging equipment, reviewing images for diagnostic quality, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Schedule:

  • 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri
  • On-call committment

o One weeknight per week between the hours of 1700-0730

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiographic examinations in accordance with clinical and VA standards.
