Job summary

University Health is seeking a Medical Informatics Educator to support education, adoption, and effective use of our EHR and regulatory initiatives across physicians and advanced practice providers.

You will connect clinical practice with information technology, develop training materials, and collaborate with IT and department leaders to promote hands-on proficiency and sustained competency in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with two years of professional experience.
• Clinical background and/or healthcare experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for clinicians; collaboration with IT and clinical teams.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a high-pressure setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead education and adoption initiatives for effective EHR use and regulatory requirements.
• Educate physicians and advanced practice providers within the clinical environment.
• Assess current knowledge, skills, and attitudes to identify competency gaps.
• Develop strategies to support technology adoption and sustained competency.
• Gather feedback from clinicians to identify challenges and educational needs.
• Assist with the development and enhancement of educational materials and training programs.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical information for clinicians.
• Build partnerships with end-users, department leaders, IT professionals, and stakeholders.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement, communication, and user experience.
• Prioritize and execute multiple initiatives in a high-pressure clinical setting.
