The technician escorts and transports patients to and from the Medical Imaging Department and ensures age-appropriate care for all patients served, from infants to geriatrics. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent, with up to three months of related experience.

Qualifications

• Experience: Up to three months of related work experience.
• No professional licenses or registrations are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients to prevent accidents by falling or transports non-ambulatory patients using wheelchair or stretcher.
• Carries patients’ personal items if needed.
• Identifies patients by name and birthday, verifying with armband.
• Documents completion times at Nurses' Station and Emergency Department.
• Transports patients to the Medical Imaging Department in a timely manner.
• Stays with patient if technologist is out of the examination room.
• Participates in CQAI program and complies with policies and safety rules.
