Job summary

Neuralink in Austin, TX is seeking a Medical Imaging Software Engineer to join the Surgery Engineering team. You will own the end-to-end pipeline of medical imaging data, from scanner input to intraoperative navigation, enabling precise electrode placement for Neuralink implants.

You will import 3D imaging datasets, build GUI tools for target placement, and interface with surgical hardware. Qualifications include a technical degree, strong 3D visualization, and experience shipping production

Qualifications

• Evidence of exceptional ability in engineering or computer science.
• Proven track record of shipping software with real-world impact.
• Understanding of how systems work at a fundamental level.
• Practical proficiency in linear algebra.
• Experience manipulating and visualizing 3D objects (e.g., game development, VR/AR, medical imaging).
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) OR equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end pipeline of medical imaging data from scanner to surgery.
• Import and manipulate 3D medical imaging datasets.
• Build and deploy applications to manage large amounts of medical image data.
• Develop a GUI to allow electrode targeting based on pre-operative imaging.
• Interface with intraoperative hardware for patient and tool tracking.
