Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Medical ICU at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, 3BC MICU, on a 36-hour night schedule. The role requires MA nursing registration and recent critical care experience. The nurse will plan, implement, and evaluate care, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the care team.

Knowledge of growth and development, discharge planning, and education for patients and families is essential. ACLS/CCRN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
• For newly licensed nurses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
• Minimum 1 year recent Critical Care nursing experience.
• ACLS and CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a specific patient assignment.
• Set priorities for patients with varying acuity.
• Document care clearly and in compliance with nursing documentation standards.
• Develop a comprehensive plan of care based on initial assessment and team input.
• Develop a comprehensive discharge plan utilizing appropriate resources and referrals.
• Administer medications safely according to established policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in unit-based quality improvement.
