Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support on operating a high-fidelity patient simulator system, assist in developing metrics to validate a simulation-based team-training program.
• Assist with the use of advanced learning technologies and methodologies to improve medical education and training for healthcare teams, and provide technical and analytic support for the Team Training Program at USAFSAM.
• Collaborate with USAFSAM/ETC personnel to provide digital video recording support, maintain existing equipment, analyze team training measures, design simulation scenarios, and operate simulators within a controlled simulation environment.
• Provide support for digital video recording and simulators for C-STARS training platforms.
• Operate the Learning Management System (LMS) and associated A/V solution used to view and evaluate learner performance during training and simulation events.
• Analyze team performance during pre- and post-simulation conditions to establish correlations; utilize, complete, collect, and track simulation evaluation tools.
• Assist with development, data collection, data analysis, and administration of pre- and post-simulation scenarios.
• Prepare training environments, operate simulation equipment/assets, and recover equipment and environment for scheduled training and upon request by USAFSAM staff.
• Conduct orientation to the simulation equipment and environment and provide an overview of the human patient simulator.
• Assist in the management and daily operations of the simulation training program.
• Assist in developing simulation program validation metrics.
• Collaborate with program analysis, curriculum advisors, course program director, IM/IT, medical logistics, and site leadership to identify operational needs and develop recommendations to address simulation/course shortfalls.
• Provide assistance to the program course director during the patient simulation scenario review process.
• Develop and provide training, safety, and maintenance materials for operation of all simulation equipment as directed by the Simulation Program Coordinator.
• Attend strategic planning meetings and teleconferences to improve the patient simulated course experience and delivery of content.
• Support simulation center set-up and provide consultative assistance regarding future site expansion and high-fidelity HPS recommendations.
• Ensure simulation education, program key elements, and learning objectives align with course and skill sustainment requirements.
• Report needs regarding simulation supplies and equipment to meet identified learning objectives.
• Operate simulation equipment, task trainers, Hi-Fidelity simulators, and VR trainers, and adjust based on participant actions as needed.
• Create troubleshooting documents, simulation checklists, and lesson plans/scenarios for equipment; forward to the program course director for review.
• Support USAFSAM simulation research projects within the contractor scope.
• Coordinate leave requests with the Cincinnati Deputy Site Director in advance to meet local policy and avoid absence during scheduled courses.
• Assist with train-the-trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting for training additional cadre members.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Current and valid National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification, or paramedic-equivalent medical knowledge (RN level preferred) to manipulate physiological data and interpret participants' responses.
• Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
• Five years of clinical experience in military or civilian settings.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with word processing software and SharePoint applications.
• At least two years of experience programming human patient simulators using Laerdal, Gaumard, and CAE operating systems.
• Experience in course development and education methodology.
• Knowledge of military trauma clinical skills, procedures, and processes (e.g., AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines).
• Knowledge of applicable Air Force and professional standards and ability to follow USAFSAM and Department orientation programs.
• Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, move simulation equipment, work in low-light and high-volume environments, and operate in varying weather conditions.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), audio/visual solutions, moulage creation and application, hyper-realistic simulators, and task-trainers.
• One year of military medical or deployment experience.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 (SF85) background check.
