Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a friendly Medical Front Desk Receptionist for a part-time role in Missouri. You will be the first point of contact, greeting patients and helping with questions while supporting daily office operations.

The position requires strong organization, healthcare-friendly communication, and reliability in a busy medical environment. Schedule includes a consistent Tuesday and Thursday pattern, with hours from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of administrative support experience in a medical environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of health insurance processes, including pre-authorization, insurance verification, CPT/ICD-10 coding.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival and address questions and concerns.
  • Answer calls, provide information, transfer calls, and take messages as needed.
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars for multiple providers.
  • Register new patients and update demographics and financial information.
  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of arrivals and delays.
  • Maintain and update patient records via data entry, faxing, and scanning.
  • Collect payments, including deductibles, coinsurance, balances, copays, and OTC items.
  • Review accounts receivable/payable changes since prior visits.
  • Maintain log of orthotics received; contact patients for follow-ups and scheduling.
  • Monitor office supply inventory, place orders, and coordinate equipment maintenance.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations for next-day appointments.
  • Prepare and process daily reports and upload financial records.
  • Review billing claims and denials; gather information to resolve issues.
  • Support additional office tasks and projects as needed.

Medical Front Desk Receptionist - Part-Time

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a friendly, dependable Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. If you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and working in a busy healthcare environment, we'd love to meet you!

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play an important role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting the day-to-day operations of the medical office.

Schedule:
  • Consistent Tuesday and Thursday schedule
  • Office hours: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Review billing claims and denials; gather required information from providers or patients to resolve issues

Required Skills and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of administrative support experience in a medical environment preferred
  • Knowledge ofhealth insurance processes, including pre-authorization, insurance verification, medical terminology, CPT codes and ICD-9/ ICD-10 coding preferred
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, coworkers, and the public
  • Strong communication , multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to achieving high levels of patient satisfaction
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance at all times
