Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. You will work directly with patients, support physicians, and be part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Hands-on training and ongoing clinical development are provided, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow clinically. This role offers hands-on patient care across multiple local office locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel between local office locations.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Pay Range:

• $18 - $20 per hour based on experience

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, talk, hear, and use hands to write, type, or operate office equipment
