Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a friendly Medical Office Administrative Clerk to join the Float Pool in MI. The role provides patient and customer support in a clinical setting, greeting patients, checking in/out, verifying demographics, scheduling and confirming appointments, and handling general office tasks.

In this PRN position, prior medical office experience is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
• Medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting.
• Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation. Verify and enter demographic information.
• Obtain and verify authorizations/precertification. Complete medical record release requests and schedule/confirm patient appointments.
• Enter, review and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
• Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.
