Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is hiring a Helicopter Aircraft Transport Pilot (HAA) to provide medical air transportation for Med-Trans customers. The role focuses on safe patient movement, aircraft readiness, and regulatory compliance in a high-stakes environment.

Qualified candidates will have a rotorcraft commercial certificate, instrument rating, FAA Class II Medical, and thousands of flight hours across rotorcraft and turbine platforms.

Qualifications

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
• Helicopter instrument rating.
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours.
• 1,500 Helicopter Hours.
• 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours.
• 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours.
• 200 Helicopter Night Flight Hours.
• 200 Helicopter Instrument Hours (Actual/Hood/SIM)

Responsibilities

• Transport patients with a medical team to and from locations.
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches per manuals and FAR/Med-Trans requirements.
• Maintain Med-Trans regulatory documentation and records.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
• Provide shift-change information for the Med-Trans change board.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.
