Overview and Responsibilities
Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for performing all tasks and communication related to the intake of patient information concerning the service of durable medical equipment and respiratory products and supplies with patients/clients, co-workers, and referral sources as it relates to patient services and third-party reimbursement.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with updating respiratory grid.
  • Clear previous day's route and check all paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with patients/clients and referral sources both verbally and in writing to ensure questions and concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Complete SOPs/CMNs and document on tracking logs.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures to meet JCAHO and company standards.
  • Coordinate all patient information, process paperwork, including preparation for Billing Department, and complete batch reports for UPS deliveries.
  • Maintain referral logs.
  • Monitor office supplies.
  • Prepare deposits and invoices as required.
  • Process paperwork, confirm tickets, input new patient setups, and assemble charts.
  • Provide service for retail/walk-in equipment requests and technical assistance to customers.
  • Verify insurance coverage (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance).
  • Work with outside agencies to resolve customer issues.
  • May be required to cover on call, drive a company vehicle, and make home deliveries.

Other duties include maintaining attendance, working cooperatively with others, managing multiple tasks, and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Background investigation and drug screening required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if applicable).
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred experience with medical equipment, billing, or in the medical field.
  • One year of related work experience preferred.

  • Accurate mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Multi-tasking, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Machines, Equipment, and Technical Abilities
  • Proficiency in email, internet, Microsoft Office, and office equipment.
Physical Demands
  • Lift and carry equipment, including up to 35 pounds.
  • May require driving and home visits.
