Job summary

Arthrex Chicago seeks a Medical Education Manager to lead strategy, development, and execution of medical education programs, clinical lab operations, and HCP learning experiences. You will partner with stakeholders to advance surgeon education, employee development, and organizational goals.

The Medical Education Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of Medical Education programs, clinical lab operations, and healthcare professional (HCP) learning experiences. This role oversees Medical Education Associates, develops innovative training initiatives, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to advance surgeon education, employee development, and organizational objectives.

Main Objective

The Medical Education Manager provides strategic leadership for all Medical Education activities, including employee training, surgeon education, clinical labs, and HCP engagement. This position is responsible for driving educational excellence, developing training programs, managing Medical Education personnel, and ensuring alignment with company goals and sales initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Represent Arthrex Chicago, the exclusive agency authorized to sell Arthrex products in the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. Arthrex is a world-class leader in the orthopedic industry.

Medical Education Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Medical Education Associates and other team members.
  • Establish department goals, objectives, and performance metrics aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Effectively communicate Medical Education strategies and expectations across the organization.
  • Develop innovative educational strategies and training solutions that support employee development and customer engagement.
  • Identify Medical Education opportunities that support and accelerate sales initiatives.
Training & Education Programs
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs for employees, surgeons, and healthcare professionals.
  • Partner with Product Management and key stakeholders to create and deliver product and procedure-based educational programs.
  • Teach and facilitate training programs focused on Arthrex products, surgical techniques, anatomy, and clinical applications.
  • Develop winning educational strategies that enhance learning outcomes and support business growth.
  • Encourage innovative approaches and continuous improvement within Medical Education programming.
Clinical Lab Oversight
  • Oversee and monitor all Medical Education training labs for employees, surgeons, and HCPs.
  • Ensure educational labs are executed effectively and meet organizational, educational, and customer objectives.
  • Review lab utilization, participation, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence in all lab environments.
Educational Systems & Compliance
  • Manage the organization's online learning management system (LMS) and educational platforms, ensure employee completion of required training and maintain 100% compliance with educational requirements.
  • Monitor participation, certifications, and training records to ensure organizational standards are met.
  • Utilize reporting and analytics to measure program effectiveness and training outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource and strategic advisor on Medical Education initiatives.
Arthrex Medical Education & HCP Education Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Arthrex Corporate Medical Education and Arthrex Chicago, ensuring alignment with corporate educational programs, initiatives, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee compliant management of healthcare professional (HCP) education activities, including consulting HCP engagement and local educational programs.
  • Coordinate HCP participation in educational programs and training opportunities at Arthrex Headquarters.
  • Ensure agency employees remain current and compliant with Arthrex corporate training tracks and learning requirements.
  • Partner with sales leadership and management to identify local surgeon and team educational needs.
  • Stay informed on new product launches, technologies, and procedural advancements to ensure effective training and educational support for surgeons, HCPs, and agency employees.
  • Develop and implement training strategies that support product adoption, clinical proficiency, and business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical education, healthcare, orthopedic medical devices, clinical education, and/or 2 years of Arthrex field experience.
  • Previous leadership and team management experience preferred.
  • Clinical background preferred (PA, ATC, RN, Surgical Technologist, OR Technician, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, surgical procedures, and healthcare professional education.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs and educational curriculum.
  • Comfortable in an Operating Room and cadaver lab environment.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
