Millennium Physician Group in San Francisco is seeking an Analyst I in Medical Economics to support value-based contracts, including MSSP ACOs and Advantage. You will perform analyses, validate data, and help develop dashboards, communicating findings to internal stakeholders.

The role builds knowledge of healthcare claims, EHR, risk adjustment, quality, attribution, and financial data, with mentorship from senior team members. This is an on-site position in San Francisco.

Job Description Summary The Medical Economics Analyst I supports the organization's value-based (VB) contracts, including MSSP ACOs and Advantage, Commercial ACOs. This role performs defined and recurring analyses, supports reporting and dashboard development, validates data, and helps identify trends that inform cost, utilization, quality, risk adjustment, and shared savings performance. Working under the guidance of more experienced Medical Economics team members, the Analyst I develops foundational knowledge of healthcare claims, EHR, risk adjustment, quality, attribution, and financial data. The role is expected to build strong technical skills, produce accurate and timely work, ask thoughtful questions, and progressively take ownership of routine analyses and reporting deliverables.

How will you make an impact & Requirements
  • Value-Based Analytics Support
    • Perform standard and recurring analyses for value-based contracts, including medical cost trends, utilization, risk score performance, quality metrics, and shared savings performance.
    • Prepare data pulls, recurring reports, provider-level summaries, and basic performance analyses using established methodologies and templates.
    • Identify notable trends, variances, or potential data issues and elevate findings to senior team members for review.
    • Support ad hoc analyses and special projects by gathering data, performing calculations, and documenting results.
    • Develop working knowledge of value-based program requirements, payer methodologies, benchmarks, and key performance measures.
  • Data & Technical Development
    • Write, modify, and troubleshoot SQL queries using established data models, tables, and coding standards.
    • Work with healthcare datasets including claims, EHR, risk adjustment, quality, and attribution data.
    • Perform routine data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to confirm completeness and accuracy of analytical outputs.
    • Assist with recurring datasets, extracts, and reporting processes that support Medical Economics deliverables.
    • Document query logic, data sources, metric definitions, assumptions, and analytical steps to support consistency and reproducibility.
    • Partner with senior analysts or data engineering resources to investigate and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Reporting & Visualization
    • Build and maintain standard reports and dashboards in Tableau, Sigma, Excel, or other approved reporting tools using defined requirements.
    • Perform quality assurance on recurring dashboards and reports before distribution.
    • Create clear charts, tables, and summaries that communicate key findings to internal stakeholders.
    • Support automation and process-improvement efforts that reduce manual work and improve reporting consistency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with Medical Economics, Finance, Quality, Care Management, Population Health, Clinical Operations, and other internal teams to support analytical requests.
    • Participate in project and stakeholder meetings, communicate progress, and follow through on assigned action items.
    • Explain analytical results clearly and appropriately for the audience, with support from senior team members as needed.
    • Seek feedback, incorporate coaching, and contribute to team standards, documentation, and shared best practices.

Compensation Range: $58,165.00 to $87,247.00 The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
