UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a Medical Dosimetrist to perform computerized treatment planning for external beam, high-dose-rate, and low-dose-rate brachytherapy in coordination with radiation oncologists.

The role requires a bachelor’s or MDCB-trained education, CMD certification or MDCB eligibility, and 1–4 years of dosimetry experience depending on education. The position is full-time with hybrid work, offering competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific technical field (i.e. Radiation Therapy Technology, Physics, Math) or graduation from a school of Medical Dosimetry or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Certified by Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) and credentialed as Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD), OR Board eligible by MDCB (certification must be completed within one year of eligibility)
• If graduation from Medical Dosimetry school: No prior experience required; if a Bachelor's degree: One year of health care experience; if Associate's degree, four years of experience in medical dosimetry under supervision.

Responsabilités

• Fabricates treatment aids.
• Measures patient doses using thermoluminescent dosimetry methods and materials.
• Perform QA on dosimetry procedures according to standard procedures.
• Provide dosimetry instruction for radiation therapy students and residents.
• Provide technical and administrative support for brachytherapy procedures, including source receipt, preparation, and disposal.
• Uses computerized treatment planning system to prepare radiation treatment plans and modifies plans as needed; collaborates with medical staff on planning approach and data gathering.

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific technical field

Graduation from Medical Dosimetry school or equivalent education/training

Certified Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) or Board eligible by MDCB
