Job summary

Inova Center for Personalized Health is seeking a dedicated Dosimetrist 1 to join the team on a full-time basis, Monday through Friday. A sign-on bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dosimetry or related field required.
• Board-eligible or board-certified dosimetrist credentials pursued within 12 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes patient-specific data to support treatment planning and contour organs at risk.
• Designs and optimizes radiation treatment plans for simple to intermediate cases with the oncology team.
• Calculates dosage and beam arrangements using planning software, considering patient factors and structures.
• Evaluates plans to meet dose constraints and documents trade-offs.
• Maintains detailed records and transfers plans for physics review and treatment.
• Stays current with dosimetry advances and pursues CMD credentials within 12 months of hire.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizes patient-specific data, such as CT scans, MRI images, and patient medical histories, to support the treatment planning process. Contour organ at risk per department standards.
• Independently designs, develops, and optimizes radiation treatment plans in collaboration with the radiation oncology team for patients with simple to intermediate complexities and disease sites.
• Utilizes treatment planning software and computer programs to calculate the appropriate radiation dosage and beam arrangements while considering patient-specific factors and critical structures.
• Evaluates and refines treatment plans to ensure they meet prescribed dose and safety guidelines while minimizing potential side effects. Assess target coverage, conformity, and OAR sparing against prescription and dose constraints; iterate to meet clinical goals and document trade-offs.
• Maintains accurate and detailed records of treatment plans, patient information, and all relevant data in compliance with regulatory standards. Complete plan documents and transfer plans to the OIS accurately for physics review and treatment.
• Stays updated on the latest advancements in radiation therapy, dosimetry techniques, and treatment planning technologies through continuous learning and professional development opportunities. Maintains board-eligible status and pursue the CMD credentials within 12 months of hire.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
