Job summary

DVM Focus is representing a Medical Director Veterinarian opportunity with an established companion-animal practice in the Augusta, Georgia area. This role combines hands-on clinical medicine with hospital leadership and mentoring of a veterinary team.

A pathway to partnership and equity ownership is provided, along with competitive compensation and leadership opportunities. The Medical Director will maintain an active clinical role while providing leadership to the veterinary and clinical teams

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited university.
• Active Georgia veterinary license or ability to obtain one.
• Established companion-animal clinical experience.
• Strong medical and surgical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in mentoring and developing veterinary professionals.
• Collaborative approach to hospital leadership and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality companion-animal medical and surgical care.
• Lead and support hospital medical standards.
• Mentor and develop veterinarians and clinical staff.
• Promote collaboration and effective communication hospital-wide.
• Support QA and consistent standards of care.
• Foster a positive, supportive hospital culture.
• Participate in clinical and operational decision‑making.
• Support client relationships and communication.
