Job summary

Crossroads Health in Mentor, Ohio, seeks a Medical Director of Psychiatry to lead integrated behavioral and primary care services across our FQHC network, focusing on strategy, quality and workforce development with limited patient load.

Requirements include MD/DO, Ohio medical license, board certification in FM/IM/Peds, DEA registration, liability insurance, Medicaid provider number, and proven leadership in primary care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Five years of administrative and leadership experience in primary healthcare settings.
• Five years of clinical experience with knowledge of local primary healthcare systems.
• State of Ohio Medical License, Board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
• DEA Registration.
• Professional Liability Insurance $1,000,000/$3,000,000.
• Medicaid provider number issued by Ohio Department of Medicaid.
• Valid Driver's License and must have an acceptable driving record (4 points or less) , reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership, the Director of Integrated Healthcare, nursing leadership, pharmacy leadership, quality improvement, and operations teams to strengthen integrated care delivery and enhance patient outcomes.
• Support strategies that maximize utilization and capture rates within the organization's in-house and contract pharmacy programs while improving medication access and adherence.
• Serve as a physician ambassador for the organization, advancing strategic partnerships with hospitals, academic institutions, residency programs, managed care organizations, referral partners, and community stakeholders to improve access to care and expand services throughout the community.
• Provide clinical oversight, supervision, and mentorship to psychiatric Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), psychiatry residents and interns, and other psychiatric clinical staff.
• Using a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered approach, the Medical Director champions integrated healthcare, provider engagement, and clinical innovation.

The Medical Director of Psychiatry serves as the senior psychiatric physician leader for Crossroads Health's Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), providing strategic, administrative, and clinical leadership for psychiatric services across the organization. This leadership-focused position is responsible for advancing high-quality, integrated, patient-centered care while supporting organizational growth, workforce development, quality improvement, and key strategic initiatives. Using a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered approach, the Medical Director champions integrated healthcare, provider engagement, and clinical innovation. This role is intentionally designed as a leadership and supervisory position and does not maintain a prominent patient caseload, allowing dedicated focus on organizational strategy, provider support, quality outcomes, community partnerships, and the continued growth of psychiatric services.
