Job description

The Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine is seeking a Medical Director. This position holds the administrative title of Medical Director for the Center for Family Medicine-Springfield. Duties will include a combination of patient care, research, and teaching activities. Additionally, the role includes the administrative assignment of Site Medical Director for the Health Center in Springfield.

This position will:

1. Supervise the clinical provider staff at the Center
2. Work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, the Site Administrator, and the Residency Program Director to implement best practices for the Clinic
3. Collaborate with the System Chief Medical Director, Information Officer, and Site Medical Directors across all SIU FQHC sites to ensure quality, consistency, and standardization
4. Meet reporting requirements for federal and other regulatory bodies
5. Perform residency teaching activities and research
6. Work closely with the Program Director for the Springfield Residency Training Program
