Position Summary

The Site Medical Director serves as the responsible Physician and health authority, overseeing clinical services to ensure appropriate medical care without managerial duties.

Essential Functions

• Consult with community medical providers
• Supervise clinical staff
• Ensure on-call services
• Review and approve clinical protocols and policies
• Manage referrals and coordinate care
• Sponsor Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
• Assist in hiring and training healthcare providers
• Participate in training and represent the healthcare program
• Complete medical rounds and document all encounters accurately
• Provide emergency treatment and respond to urgent situations
• Follow evidence-based standards and ensure competence in CPR and AED use

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited medical school
• Licensed to practice in Wisconsin
• Current DEA Registration
• Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, with correctional healthcare experience preferred
• Fluent in English
• Team player with leadership skills
• Able to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with staff
• Must not pose a safety threat to others
