Position Summary

NeighborHealth is seeking an experienced Medical Director for the administrative and clinical development and supervision of primary care staff in PACE. The role oversees performance of PACE clinical care, collaborates with senior leadership, and provides direct primary patient care for PACE participants.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and update departmental clinical policies and procedures.
  • Oversee clinical quality management with PACE Quality Director and other directors.
  • Maintain and communicate operating policies and procedures to subordinates continuously.
  • Provide strong leadership, resolving staff issues promptly.
  • Assist the department in annual performance improvement projects.
  • Recruit primary care physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Collaborate with IT for data reporting and validate IT reports related to PACE services.
  • Assist in the clinical portion of grant writing and reporting.
  • Work closely with coding and billing departments to assure correct coding and fund allocation.
Clinical and Administrative Time
  • Approximately 12 weekly clinical hours (15 payroll hours), including call rotation.
  • 25 administrative hours per week covering responsibilities and leadership tasks.

Other Duties

Required Qualifications
  • MD and board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required.
  • Minimum five years working in Geriatrics.
  • Current MD licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Required to obtain and maintain professional licensure and clinical privileges at NeighborHealth and Boston Medical Center.
  • Knowledge of geriatric care treatment.
  • Ability to use data to evaluate outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems, performance dashboards, database products, and analysis tools.
  • Leadership and change management skills with strong interpersonal, communication, and teaching abilities.
  • Five years of clinical leadership experience with exceptional problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Professional office and clinic environment.
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a computer and office equipment.
  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods during administrative tasks.
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
  • Adequate visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity required.
  • May move between clinic and administrative areas and be exposed to a typical clinical setting.
  • Follow NeighborHealth, OSHA, and all applicable safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission policies, HHS HRSA regulations, state regulations, and other laws related to the role.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Maintain safety policies, practices, and procedures, including fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics, material handling, ergonomics, and other employee safety measures.
Salary

$235,000 to $350,000 based on years of experience.
