Job summary

CareMed seeks a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. You will set standards, guide care plans, and collaborate with NPs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality resident care.

The role involves regulatory compliance, QAPI participation, and oversight across multiple facilities within a regional network. MD/DO with geriatric/acute care experience preferred; Ohio license required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or related specialty preferred.
• Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Experience in skilled nursing facilities, long‑term care, post‑acute care, or geriatrics preferred.
• Experience collaborating with nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction and oversight for resident care within skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
• Establish and maintain clinical standards, protocols, and best practices.
• Support management of complex geriatric and chronic medical conditions.
• Participate in development of care plans and clinical pathways.
• Review and address quality metrics, hospitalization rates, infection control practices, and patient outcomes.
