Job summary

Helmwood Veterinary Clinic in Elizabethtown, KY, seeks a Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director to lead a five-doctor, full-service hospital with top-grade equipment and a collaborative team. You will provide medical direction, mentor doctors, and ensure high standards of care while expanding services across NVA’s division.

Qualifications

• DVM from an accredited university.
• Kentucky veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain before start).
• 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
• Confident decision-making; ability to delegate and lead by coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and set protocols; uphold high patient care standards.
• Manage and mentor associate veterinarians.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for veterinary medicine.
• Build a team culture of quality medicine and exceptional client service.
• Partner with Hospital Manager to drive financial performance and operations; guidance from divisional leadership.
• Grow the practice with new services and community involvement.
• Practice gold standard medicine.
