Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services seeks a Medical Director to lead the SSLC medical services. As a physician, you will oversee psychiatric, dental, pharmaceutical and laboratory work for individuals with IDD and complex needs, ensuring high-quality care and DOJ settlement compliance.

You will supervise medical staff and coordinate with specialty clinics, directing treatment plans and staff development while maintaining overall responsibility for medical care.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a medical doctor by the State of Texas.
• Must have current DEA registration certificates.
• Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and enroll as Medicaid/Medicare provider.
• Leadership or management experience.
• Clinical experience.
• Residency trained.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all medical services at the SSLC.
• Supervise physicians, APRNs, PAs, pharmacists, dentists and psychiatrists.
• Ensure high-quality medical care and DOJ settlement compliance.
• Hire, train and promote staff within the department.
• Participate in committees and on-call scheduling.
