Job summary

International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis in New York seeks a physician leader to blend hands-on medical oncology/hematology with a site medical director role. You will shape an accredited cancer program from a leadership seat and collaborate with surgical, radiation, pathology, and support teams.

The role requires MD with NY license, board certification in Oncology (and Hematology eligibility), and at least 5 years of clinical experience, with prior leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• MD with active NY medical license and board certification in Medical Oncology.
• Board-certified or eligible in Hematology as part of the oncology/hematology leadership.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical Oncology/Hematology experience post-fellowship.
• Prior leadership roles such as site/medical director preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis and longitudinal management of malignant and benign hematologic/oncologic disorders.
• Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards with surgical, radiation oncology, pathology and supportive care teams.
• Serve as physician leader for the local hematology-oncology program.
• Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization and care coordination.
• Support recruitment, mentoring and professional development of oncology providers.
• Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety and patient experience.
• Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings.
• Partner with hospital/administration on strategic and operational priorities.
