Job summary

Atlas Search in New York is seeking an MD with an active NY medical license to lead and deliver clinical oncology care while directing the hematology-oncology program.

The role combines hands-on medical practice with site medical director responsibilities, helping shape an accredited cancer program within an academic-affiliated health network and mentoring oncology providers.

Qualifications

• MD with active NY medical license.
• Board certified in Medical Oncology; board certified or eligible in Hematology.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Medical Oncology/Hematology post-fellowship.
• Prior leadership experience (site director, medical director, or similar) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of malignant and benign hematologic/oncologic disorders.
• Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards alongside surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and supportive care teams.
• Serve as physician leader for the local hematology-oncology program.
• Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination.
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers.
• Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety, and patient experience.
• Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings.
• Partner with hospital and administrative leadership on strategic and operational priorities.
