Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an experienced Medical Affairs leader to design and execute an integrated Medical Plan for dermatology products, including education, communications, safety, and clinical research. You will manage cross-functional teams, budgets, and advisory activities while ensuring alignment with regulatory and commercial objectives.

The role requires advanced life sciences training, 5+ years in Medical Affairs, and a strong track record in US dermatology strategy and life cycle

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life/pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, or MD with relevant experience).
• Minimum 5 years in Medical Affairs; strong US medical strategy track record.
• Dermatology and/or Immunology clinical/medical affairs experience preferred.
• Experience in Medical Affairs launch and life cycle management; knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory/payer environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy and tactics for an integrated Medical Plan for Dermatology products.
• Execute the Integrated Medical Plan on time and on budget.
• Communicate medical plan details/progress to management and execution teams with evidence.
• Generate and communicate scientific/medical insights; develop Medical Engagement Plans.
• Provide medical strategy/expertise to Clinical, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory partners.
• Lead medical/scientific support across sales, marketing, legal, and regulatory for marketed and development-stage products.
• Oversee clinical studies and ensure GCP/ICH adherence.
• Review/approve promotional and medical materials; review medical/scientific content.
• Review/approve independent medical education grants and IST concepts/protocols; support registries.
• Partner with Drug Safety on adverse events and safety signal communication; identify and communicate Product Alerts.
• Build relationships with Key Thought Leaders; lead advisory boards; represent company at scientific meetings; provide disease state training.

Job description

Main Responsibilities

• Develop strategy and tactics for an integrated Medical Plan (MSLs, Medical Education, Medical Communications & Publications, Health Outcomes, Safety, Clinical Research incl. Phase IIIB-IV and Investigator Sponsored Trials) and annual budget for assigned Dermatology products.
• Execute the Integrated Medical Plan to deliver on-time, on-budget tactical activities and deliverables.
• Communicate medical plan details/progress to management and execution teams; provide evidence to define strategy aligned to clinical development and commercial objectives.
• Generate and communicate scientific/medical insights; develop/execute Medical Engagement Plans.
• Provide medical strategy/expertise to Clinical, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory partners; ensure cross-functional alignment to support safe and appropriate use.
• Lead medical/scientific support across sales, marketing, legal, and regulatory for marketed and development-stage products.
• Guide/collaborate with field and internal teams; manage MSL resources and budgets.
• Oversee clinical studies (protocols, reports, SAPs, guidelines, reporting) and ensure GCP/ICH adherence.
• Review/approve promotional and medical materials; review medical/scientific content in multiple functions.
• Review/approve independent medical education grants and IST concepts/protocols; support registries/post-marketing clinical trials.
• Partner with Drug Safety on adverse events and safety signal communication; identify and communicate Product Alerts.
• Build relationships with Key Thought Leaders; lead/maintain advisory boards; represent company at scientific meetings; provide disease state/product training.

Qualifications & Skills

• Advanced degree in life/pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, or MD with relevant experience).
• Minimum 5 years in Medical Affairs; strong US medical strategy track record.
• Preferred: Dermatology and/or Immunology clinical/medical affairs experience.
• Experience in Medical Affairs launch and life cycle management; knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory/payer environment.
• Sound scientific/clinical judgment; ability to design and conduct clinical trials (design/execution preferred).
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership presence, matrix influence, communication (written/oral/presentation), analytical/project management, integrity/ethics, digital literacy; pharmacovigilance/local regulatory process knowledge.
